We actually celebrated twice. The Thursday before we were in the Amarillo area for a funeral of a sweet lady. After the services, in the afternoon, we did a little shopping and bought Aspen her birthday present.

Then we ate at her choice of restaurants

The Olive Garden is always a good idea.

I snapped these pictures one evening of Aspen getting her lavender turkeys ready for bed. They’re all very tame and seem very fond of her.

Aspen and Virginia

Sunday, March 30

Aspen takes her turn in the round pen. She’s riding Virginia, a beautiful Galiceno.

She was quite fresh and tried a few tricks with Aspen.

A few more times around and around…now whoa….backup, backup…stand still…she’s licking her lips, that means she accepts it.

Nathan finished her up and made sure all her little tricks were proved futile. Now she’s being unsaddled. We’ve found the jeep is a great thing for hauling saddles back and forth from the tack shed to the round pen.

Patient Carolina hopes for a turn.
