Birthday Celebrations

Tuesday, June 16 –

We met family in Lubbock for an impromptu mass birthday celebration. Granny, Laredo and Courtney were all having another birthday either today or tomorrow. We met for supper after hitting a few stores for “on demand” birthday gifts.

Banquet in Black

Andrea invited Laredo to a banquet given by her LCU social club. They decided to both wear black. Don’t they look great?

Shower in Lubbock for Courtney and Cim

Saturday, April 25 –

We had a nice shower at the home of Joy Rainey, grandmother of the groom. Many friends and relatives came to congratulate the couple and bring a gift for the new household.

Accolades and a Traveling Cloud Show

Thursday, April 16 –

Today we ran to Lubbock. As with most of our trips to the big city, we had several reasons for going and several errands to run–many more than could possibly be accomplished.

Our main reason was to see Andrea Crowley inducted into the prestigious Sigma Tau Delta International Collegiate Honor Society.

We also enjoyed going to supper with her parents and grandparents. Earlier in the day we shopped at our favorite used clothing store and found some treasures.

On the way home, thunderstorms were active in counties all around us. We were treated to an awesome display of atmospheric eye candy.

Christmas at the Pringle’s (almost)

For the last few years we have enjoyed our Christmas get-togethers at Misty and Kevin’s. Again this year we were looking forward to it. However, at the last minute (due to unforeseen plumbing issues) we had to move the party to mom’s house.

It was as fun as ever. Lots of food, family and love.

Trip to Lubbock

Friday, December 5 –

A beautiful sunrise was in full bloom as we were loading up.

In the first valley we came to, a blanket of fog was hanging in the low spots.

Great Granny gave Marian a rocking chair.

Atlanta wanted Stockton and Carolina to pick out their own Christmas presents at Hobby Lobby. I think we spent 4 hours there and didn’t even make it to every isle. They had so much fun and got some real treasures.

Shower for Lora

Sunday, November 9, 2014 –

We traveled to Lubbock this afternoon to attend a shower for my niece. It was nice to see so many that I hadn’t seen in a while.

Fun Day in Amherst

Sunday, April 13

We enjoyed visiting the Amherst Church of Christ on Sunday. Several of our homeschooling friends attend there. Their kids were presenting their entries in the upcoming Leadership Training for Christ event coming up next weekend in Dallas. Puppet shows, skits, song leading, devotional speeches, scripture memory and more was presented by the kids and young adults of the congregation. I know they’re going to do well next weekend.

No, this fuzzy guy wasn’t at church, but afterwards we were invited to the Rodger’s home and the girls fell in love with these Pyrenees cross puppies.

Eugene Pringle Funeral

Saturday, April 5, 2014

We traveled to Lubbock Saturday morning to attend the memorial service for our good friend, Eugene Pringle.  Besides being Kevin’s father (Windy’s brother-in-law), he was also the father of Windy’s best friend in high school, Kayla. Over the years we’ve enjoyed visiting with Mona and Eugene at family gatherings. In the last few years, Misty and Kevin have hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers at their beautiful home inWilson that brought both sides of the family together at the same time. This gave us lots of opportunity for getting to know the Pringle side of the family better. Eugene will be missed by everyone that was privileged to know him.

Like-New Pickup and Lunch

CameraZOOM-20140402111247704

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

The kids and I traveled to Lubbock to pick up my..well…pickup at the body shop. It had been there for a couple of weeks getting some dents out. (Remember in February, while on our way to Tennessee, we hit black ice in Oklahoma on I-40. see Feb. 2014 News) It turned out really well, and has a nice new paint job, too. Way to go Geico!

Yummy food and fun times at Applebee’s!

We also ate lunch with mom, Sunny, Jim and Hannah at Applebee’s Restaurant, taking advantage of their .99 kid’s meals. It was a fun treat.
