Bella, Axel & Mia Celebrate at Trampoline Park

Saturday, September 23 – All of Cim and Courtney’s kids have September birthdays. It’s always fun to see what theme of party they will have. This year we got to watch them have fun at Altitude Trampoline. They jumped and ran and swung and then jumped some more. Courtney made a really cute cake that had a dinosaur and two mermaids on it. Afterwards we all went to eat out. To see all the antics for yourself, check out the video here.

Give Send Go Set up for Cimarron’s Family

A donation portal called, “Give Send Go”, has been used to try and make it easy and safe for anyone interested in helping Cim and Courtney cover some of their medical bills. The link for the website is:

https://www.givesendgo.com/cim

No amount is too small and every dollar is greatly appreciated.

Cim is still in pain. Many things have been tried and some temporary relief has resulted, but the pain continues to return. Please pray for Cim that the source of the pain can be pinpointed so that the correct treatment can be applied.

Being unable to work has made healing even harder due to the stress of wondering how all the bills will be paid. I know together we can at least take this burden away.

Thank you to everyone who is praying and thank you to those who have been able to financially contribute, as well.

Thanksgiving 2022

Thursday, November 24 –

Lots of food (esp. desserts) and lots of fun was had at Laredo & Andrea’s house at Afton. The weather wasn’t very nice but it was cozy inside by the woodstove.

The kids table was very active
Daniella very happy with her food!
Chocolate pies
Homemade pizza

We had an Italian theme this year. Lazagne and gnocci with sausage, homemade pizza, yummy sour dough rolls, ham and salad. Plus 8 pies and two cobblers! So no one went home hungry.

Time for pie!
So many choices…

Cimarron’s Surprise Party

Saturday, May 19 –

To celebrate Cim’s 26th birthday, Courtney planned a surprise party for him. It was held at the fellowship hall of the Matador church of Christ. Cim thought they were stopping by to pick up something that was left there on their way to the ranch for supper. I think she did manage to surprise him. At least he looked surprised when he heard everyone shout, “Happy Birthday”.

She made a really amazing cake that looked like barbell weights stacked one on the other.

We had hamburgers and hot dogs to go with the cake, too. Everybody chipped in. It was quite a feast.

Sunday Photo Shoot

Sunday, October 15 –

After church and lunch we took the opportunity of getting some family shots now that Cim and Courtney’s new baby is here.

Newest Grandbaby – Axel Wayne Shannon

Wednesday, September 20 –

Cimarron and Courtney have a second child, a son this time. Finally, after taking his sweet time, Axel made his appearance at 9:40 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 11 days late. But as you can see from the pictures, he was definitely worth the wait. What a sweet little man! He weighed 8 lbs. and 1/2 oz. and was 20″ long. He was born at a natural birthing center in Midland.

We got to go see him the next day.

Baby Shower for Courtney in Midland

Sunday, July 9 –

We got up early and traveled to Midland in order to attend a baby shower for Courtney that the Fairmont Park church of Christ was giving her for her expected baby boy in September. After the shower we got to visit with both our Midland grand babies and then attend church with them on Sunday night before returning home.

The first thing we did was meet for lunch at Cracker Barrel.

Then it was on to the shower for the girls. The Fairmont ladies really outdid themselves with a darling outdoorsy hunting theme for the decor.

Courtney got so many cute and useful things at the shower.

Afterwards, we went back to Cim and Courtney’s and played with the grand babies again.

The evening brought another fine sermon from Laredo at Fairmont Park church of Christ. It also gave us a little more time to spoil Callahan and Bella.

Cim and Courtney’s Baby Can’t Wait

Thursday, September 1 –

Courtney developed some issues that ruled out the home birth they were planning. They went to Plainview to meet the doctor their midwife suggested they use instead. Then the doctor suggested they just not go home at all. Before the day was out, Anna Bella was here. Isn’t she just so darling?

Baby Shower in Lubbock

Everyone’s getting excited about Cim and Courtney’s little package that’s soon to arrive. The baby shower was held in Lubbock. The theme was, “pink or blue? we wish we knew”. She got lots of cute items and the refreshments were very yummy.

The pressing question: guests were asked to choose which sex they predicted the baby would be and write their name on the appropriately colored paper outfit. The outcome was 9 girls to 8 boys, so it was pretty close.

Storm Chasing from my Computer Chair

Saturday, May 16 –

Today was the big race that Cim, Laredo, and the Phipps boys have been working toward. It’s called a “Tough Mudder” race. It was 11 miles of mud and obstacles. It was in a small Oklahoma town called Okemah, east of Oklahoma City. I’ve been worrying now for months about them being in that area of Oklahoma in mid may. It’s a tornado magnet.

Well, I was right. There were bad storms all day long. I found a live feed from KFOR Channel 4 in OKC. Also I had up TVN weather network on the internet. It has a map of the area showing storm chaser locations. You can click on a storm chaser and watch their live feed.

All day long I kept up with the storms. One tornado after another was forming. At one time the kids were in a tornado warning and a tornado even threatened Okemah a few hours after the race was over. I’m glad it’s over and the storms have moved on now into Arkansas.

Here are a few storm chaser pictures I snagged off the internet feed and from KFOR feed.

These first few are near Shamrock, TX and northeast into OK toward Sayre.
