Monday, October 27 –
I followed the kids out to the barn this morning as they were feeding their new horses. The sunrise was so amazing. I was glad I had my camera with me.
In 30 minutes, the colors had changed completely.
That evening, the sunset was equally vibrant.

A skirt full of yummy things from the garden today.
Fried up together, with olive oil and garlic, they make a wonderful addition to pasta.
Friday, October 17 –
We thought we would be able to build up our two older horses, Moxley and Radar and let Carolina and Stockton ride them until some of the younger ones were steady enough for young riders. However, they’re just not in good enough shape to be ridden very often. We’ve turned them out on wheat for a while. Meanwhile, the kids needed good broke horses to ride. So, we went to see Bill Tinney.

We’ve purchased lots of horses from Bill and his brother Tommy over the years, both breeders of Galiceno horses.

When we brought the new horses home, the troops came out to inspect them.

This morning, the animals were kind of slow to get moving. Mondays are kind of like that for me, too.

Nathan, Stockton and Carolina had fun this afternoon riding some of the horses. It was a pretty day for it.
I guess Aspen rode, too. There she is in the lead.

Simple pleasures.
I can’t decide which is more comical – the bear-faced hat or the knees sticking out of the pants…
We have two little Shorkies for sale. One black male and one black female. They’re so darling. The father is a registered Yorkie, and the mother is a full-blood unregistered Shih Tzu. We’re asking $200. Watch the video and see the cuteness. If you’re interested, use the contact page.

The guys spent a couple of hours unloading hay this morning. Meanwhile, Stockton and Carolina had fun making a hay fort.
