Welcome Alan!
How would you like to get a call at 1:40 in the morning from a daughter in labor who was all alone in her house (except for a one year old) and who was only 900 miles away? Let me tell you, it was hard to try and not sound worried for Atlanta on the other end. Their creek was swollen from a day of rain. They were on one side and the midwife was on the other. Jordan was down at the river trying to see if his brother on the other side would be able to safely get a tractor across so they could transport the midwife the same way. After about 25 minutes on the phone with Atlanta (during which she was having contractions hard enough she couldn’t talk through them and less than two minutes apart)she saw the lights of the tractor coming and got off to see if their midwife had come. Thankfully, they were not only able to get her, but Jordan’s mom across as well. Things progressed quickly from there and 90 minutes later, Alan Jordan Goodwin, made his big entrance.
Thank you, God, for your protection and for always providing a way.
Isn’t he handsome?
Atlanta and Jordan are so happy he’s here safely and that everyone’s okay. In that respect, I’m glad he was nine days early. But next time, Grammie is going earlier!
During their Christmas visit to Texas, Jordan and Atlanta still had to keep working on their home business. They make vintage-style metal doll beds and photo-prop beds and the mattresses and bedding for them. They got flooded with orders only a few weeks before Christmas. Here’s an example of boxes going out in the mail today.
Check out their business on the web and on facebook where you can find a coupon code good for 10% off through February 14.
Tuesday, December 9 –
The weather’s been so fine and Marian enjoys being outside, so we’ve been giving her rides in the kid’s old wagon. The door is off, and the seats are cracked or missing, but with a few pillows, it’s perfect for Marian…and Coconut (who doesn’t miss a chance to ride).
To see Marian having fun in the red wagon and more antics, watch this video:
