Baby Wild Hog Becomes a Pet

February 24-

The most adorable ever!

Stockton and some friends were out hunting and came upon a group of hogs. The animals all scattered except for one little confused baby girl. Stockton caught her (in a cactus) and brought her to us. Aspen brought out her pet bottle and some fresh cows milk which the pig took right away.

Everybody loves the new baby
She soon became very spoiled

We named her Tricki Woo after a favorite British TV character.

Growing Up Red

Thursday, October 29 –

Steel is getting bigger. He’s very rambunctious and has a lot of spring in his step. He’s so springy that he jumps along beside you as you walk.

The Jeep Ride *with video*

Friday, June 12 –

Tonight we piled in for a quick ride to the mailbox and back. The skies were overcast. Rain was headed our way, but just now the elements were perfect for a jeep ride.

Still pictures just don’t do this fun ride justice. Jump in and experience it for yourself first hand.

New Porch Furnishings

We moved this love seat out of the house. When one of the legs broke, that was the last straw. Until the guys have time to haul it off, Rusty is enjoying the new porch furnishings. The cushions? The kids took those to the trampoline to play with them there.

Rusty and the Rattlesnake

Tuesday, April 21 –

This afternoon, Stockton and Carolina heard a rattler under a large piece of plywood out by the barn. Rusty, of course, stuck his nose under it for a better look. They came to the house to ask for help getting the board up so Stockton could get a shot at it. I told them to wait for Nathan or the big boys to get home because I didn’t want them putting their hands under it. About that time Rusty shows up at the house with fang marks on his nose.

We talked to a vet who was willing to meet us in Childress if it turned out to be a bad case. But he said that a bite on the nose is the best place to have one (if you’re a dog).

Meanwhile, Rusty is enjoying his new status as a patient. Stockton is brushing him and trying to get him to stay calm. His nose is beginning to swell, but other than that, he seems fine.

When Cimarron got home, he and Stockton went back out and killed the snake. They said that under that piece of plywood was the rattler, a racer snake, a ground snake and a box turtle (which Stockton kept). The rattlesnake had 12 buttons, but was normal size.

As I write this at 10:12 pm, he seems to be fine. I think he dodged a bullet this time.

Cuteness for Sale!

We have two little Shorkies for sale. One black male and one black female. They’re so darling. The father is a registered Yorkie, and the mother is a full-blood unregistered Shih Tzu. We’re asking $200. Watch the video and see the cuteness. If you’re interested, use the contact page.

Cuteness Alert!

The puppies are growing and starting to run around. We’re taking them outside every 90 minutes or so to try and train them not to mess in the house. Aren’t they too cute?

Precious Fat

That’s the pet name of this little female Shorkie. She’s double the size of the other two (we lost the little runt). No guessing why. She’s a big, pushy, glutenous bully. But we love her.

Puppy Update

Wednesday, August 27 –

The puppies are really growing. They still don’t have their eyes open, but that doesn’t stop them from scooting around the room when mom’s not looking. They are five days old.
