Saturday, September 23 – All of Cim and Courtney’s kids have September birthdays. It’s always fun to see what theme of party they will have. This year we got to watch them have fun at Altitude Trampoline. They jumped and ran and swung and then jumped some more. Courtney made a really cute cake that had a dinosaur and two mermaids on it. Afterwards we all went to eat out. To see all the antics for yourself, check out the video here.
Thursday, November 24 –
Lots of food (esp. desserts) and lots of fun was had at Laredo & Andrea’s house at Afton. The weather wasn’t very nice but it was cozy inside by the woodstove.
We had an Italian theme this year. Lazagne and gnocci with sausage, homemade pizza, yummy sour dough rolls, ham and salad. Plus 8 pies and two cobblers! So no one went home hungry.

Cim and Courtney hosted a party to celebrate Bella’s 2nd birthday and Axel’s 1st birthday.

Saturday, May 19 –
To celebrate Cim’s 26th birthday, Courtney planned a surprise party for him. It was held at the fellowship hall of the Matador church of Christ. Cim thought they were stopping by to pick up something that was left there on their way to the ranch for supper. I think she did manage to surprise him. At least he looked surprised when he heard everyone shout, “Happy Birthday”.
She made a really amazing cake that looked like barbell weights stacked one on the other.
We had hamburgers and hot dogs to go with the cake, too. Everybody chipped in. It was quite a feast.
Sunday, October 15 –
After church and lunch we took the opportunity of getting some family shots now that Cim and Courtney’s new baby is here.

Put them all together and it makes for a darling family and a great weekend. They spent time here with us and at their old house down at Afton. Everyone had a great time playing with Bella and getting to know baby Axel.
Wednesday, September 20 –
Cimarron and Courtney have a second child, a son this time. Finally, after taking his sweet time, Axel made his appearance at 9:40 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 11 days late. But as you can see from the pictures, he was definitely worth the wait. What a sweet little man! He weighed 8 lbs. and 1/2 oz. and was 20″ long. He was born at a natural birthing center in Midland.
We got to go see him the next day.
Big sister, Bella, who turned 1 on September 1, isn’t too sure about new baby brother.
First cousin, Callahan, only 4 months older, is sure to be Axel’s best buddy.
Sunday, July 9 –
We got up early and traveled to Midland in order to attend a baby shower for Courtney that the Fairmont Park church of Christ was giving her for her expected baby boy in September. After the shower we got to visit with both our Midland grand babies and then attend church with them on Sunday night before returning home.
The first thing we did was meet for lunch at Cracker Barrel.
Then it was on to the shower for the girls. The Fairmont ladies really outdid themselves with a darling outdoorsy hunting theme for the decor.
Courtney got so many cute and useful things at the shower.
Afterwards, we went back to Cim and Courtney’s and played with the grand babies again.
Cim gave us a demonstration of lifting using his homemade atlas stone.
The evening brought another fine sermon from Laredo at Fairmont Park church of Christ. It also gave us a little more time to spoil Callahan and Bella.
Thursday, June 1 –
Nine months is a long time. That’s how long we waited on Bella to get here and nine months is how old she is today. She’s such an adorable little darling and has a smile that will melt your heart. She’s also a talented musician already.

Sunday, November 27 –
Cim and Courtney sit in front of us at church. So that makes our view especially wonderful. Today she was in a little Christmas outfit.
And last week she was sucking her thumb and looking adorable…
Saturday, October 22 –
Bella was the star of the afternoon, although she mostly just slept, at a shower thrown in her honor. The theme chosen was children’s books, but she received some clothing and accessories as well as some darling additions to her library. The hostesses were Jennifer Auth, Leah Lee And Kathy Rice. Kathy’s home carried the shower theme throughout, with books and baby items here and there about her home in unexpected places.
Thursday, September 1 –
Courtney developed some issues that ruled out the home birth they were planning. They went to Plainview to meet the doctor their midwife suggested they use instead. Then the doctor suggested they just not go home at all. Before the day was out, Anna Bella was here. Isn’t she just so darling?
