We thought we were going to have overnight guests last night and maybe even tonight, and Nathan had planned to work cattle today until it rained yesterday, so we hadn’t planned anything for the 4th. Since we ended up with the day free, Georgia came out and we grilled hamburgers. She wanted to give Stockton his gift of money because she knew we had a surprise planned for him on Saturday and she thought he might want the money to spend. So we decided to give them all their gifts, even though they weren’t wrapped yet.

Happy Birthday, Carolina! I’m so glad we had you. Some people thought six kids was a few too many, but I’m so glad you came along. You’re one of the sweetest, kindest, most helpful and loving people I’ve ever known. You’re one of my best friends and I couldn’t function without your help and eagerness to be useful. We all love you so badly! (as Carolina used to say when she was little).

Carolina has been enjoying her friend, Michelle’s visit this week. We picked her up in Decatur last weekend. Michelle’s parents came to pick her up today. Carolina insisted that I make a special cake for the occasion since it was her birthday today. She helped me and so did Eve. We had quite a bit of trouble with the egg whites which didn’t seem to want to stiffen up, but overall it turned out quite yummy. Carolina’s official party is supposed to be Sunday afternoon, but I guess one can’t have too many parties, right?
Carolina and Michelle ready to sample the chocolate cake.
The icing never did fluff up, so we’re calling it a coconut “sauce”….ahum…
Here’s a photo of an interesting drawing that both girls have been creating.
Carolina made this poster for Atlanta and Jordan and taped it on the wall. Isn’t it hilarious?
My playhouse has been really dirty for the last couple of years so me and mom decided to clean it. The playhouse used to be facing south\west and every time the wind blew leaves, dust and everything you could think of blew in. It was awful. On Sunday while the guys were here,we got them to move it to where it’s facing south.Me and mom spent almost all day out there cleaning it out.We pulled everything out all the dishes, rugs, towels and play food. We redecorated and… TA DA!! all better.
My dad made it for me about four or five years back. It has two windows. It’s has a barn-like door, the top and bottom parts are separate so the top swings open with out having to open the bottom part.
Jordan, Atlanta’s husband, built me a bunch of nice shelves to put all my junk on.
My refrigerator, full of all my play food.
The whole set-up even has a clock and two lamps!.
My ironing board with my iron and food trays.
We used to do a bunch of plays but we got out of it after awhile. For one of our plays we had to have a staircase. We built a staircase and after the play we took it back out to our house. We had it by a tree for a long, long, long…time but when we moved my play house, we also moved the stairs.
It is just the right height so you can get on the roof. It’s great for taking sunset\sunrise pictures.
Looking down from on top of the roof at Aspen’s geese.
A helicopter flew over as I was taking pictures so I decided to take a picture of it.
Hope you liked the pictures, I had fun taking them!
lots of love~

We had to move Carolina’s playhouse to repair the fence. We also moved a “tree house” so it could be inside the fence. We put the tree house stairs against the playhouse. Carolina got inspired to clean out her playhouse and wash all of her dishes. She and Stockton have been having fun playing restaurant.

Carolina’s been under the weather all week. She’s able to do a little school, but after an hour of being up, she heads back to the couch and falls asleep again. I snapped these pictures of her as Rusty was offering a little moral support.
